Sharing the Love Spreading the Joy

first camp

An after school program for children grades K through 6th, where children matter.

First Camp is a Christian-based after-school program where children share God's love and have fun and fellowship with other children and the staff.  The schedule for First Camp is closely coordinated with the calendar of the Oconee County Public School calendar.

Students are encouraged to uphold Christian standards, to respect others, and to exhibit courteous behavior.  Disciplinary methods and procedures are used to assist students in developing and maintaining a safe, orderly, fun and pleasant atmosphere.

Each day there will be a specific activity.  Campers are expected to participate eagerly and willingly.  These activities encourage camaraderie among the campers and help the staff interact with the campers in a fun and safe environment.

The scheduled daily activity will change each week based on the weekly subject/theme.  However, each activity will revolve around these basic methods:
Monday/Chapel Time;Tuesday/Craft;Wednesday/Science;Thursday/Cooking;Friday/Drama or Games.

Payment Policy and Procedure

The cost per camper is $55 a week or $12 a day with an extra charge on the days when parent-teacher conferences and teacher work days are scheduled.  The cost is $20.00 for half days and $30.00 for full days.  Payment for full attendance, whether your child misses due to illness or other sudden reasons, is required.  However, if given one week notice fees can be reduced to match the attendance record of your child.

Fees must be paid before a child can attend.  Any unpaid fees not received by Friday of the week you are paying for are considered late.  Checks should be made payable to WFUMC First Camp.  Fees can be paid weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.  A late fee of $15.00 will be assessed for payments made after the last day of the month.  There will be a $25 fee for each returned check.  This amount plus the amount originally paid by check will need to be paid by cash or money order within 5 business days of notification.

Children are to be picked up by 6:00 p.m. by parents or designated individuals.  After 6:00 p.m. you will be charged $5 in five minute increments until you arrive.  If someone other than yourself will be picking up your child, please let First Camp staff know prior to their arrival.

Please inform us via phone calls, written notes, or messages if your child will not be attending on a certain day.  This communication helps us maintain our pickup schedule when going to other schools.  You can also contact us via email.

We plan to take several Field Trips throughout the year.  Some trips may be covered  by the First Camp budget and others may require an additional fee.

Thank you for your support of our program.  Please do not hesitate to call, email us, or drop by any time.
