Rev. Randy Kanipe, Senior Pastor 

 
Rev. Randy Kanipe grew up in Western North Carolina.  Randy has been in the North Georgia Conference of the UMC since 1990.   He was ordained in 1994 as a Deacon and an Elder in 1996.
 
Randy  holds several academic degrees:
B.S.  Greensboro College - Greensboro NC - Business Administration
M.Div. 1993 - Emory University
Th.M. 1996 - Emory University
D.Min.  In progress - Asbury Seminary, Lexington Ky.
 
Randy enjoys working with all age groups.  Randy and his wife Marika have been married for 19 years.  Marika is studying to be a nurse practitioner.   Their two children are Rebekah, who is 13 and James who is 10. Rebekah is a talented musician, and James is quite gifted with computers.  
 
The family enjoys camping, sailing and traveling, and Randy enjoys flying whenever he gets the chance.

Rev. Anne Hansen, Minister of Christian Formation

 
Rev. Anne Hansen grew up in Tallahassee, Florida.  Anne Hansen has been in the North Georgia Conference of the UMC since June 2007 when she started working at WatkinsvilleFirstUnitedMethodistChurch.
 
Anne holds several academic degrees:
BSED from UGA in Recreation and Leisure Studies & Therapautic Recreation, 
MHE from UGA in Life Span Development, 
Certificate in Gerontology from UGA, and 
BGTS from Emory.
 
Anne has lived in the Watkinsville/Athens area since 1984.  She is an avid University of Georgia sports fan and attends many sporting events.  She also plays tennis and enjoys riding her bike. 
 
Anne works at the church with children, care teams, membership care, women’s group and the educational programs.  She also works for the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission with the Area Agency on Aging, helping to support older adults in the community.
